Programmes have content that is short and simple to understand. Content on the website and native iOS/Android apps have information that is broken up into smaller bitesize pieces to ensure that users can digest the information more easily. Wherever possible, content has been presented in a list format, rather than in overly long paragraphs of information; this style of presentation is often easier for users to absorb.
The Channel4.com website has meaningful headings and subheadings that introduces content correctly, which minimises the likelihood of users becoming confused. To achieve this, the headings are relevant to the content they introduce, acronyms and abbreviations have been expanded in their first instance of use on a page, and spacing between paragraphs have been carefully considered in order to aid in readability of the page.

Yes, you can stream on both Wi-Fi and mobile data
-
Wi-Fi is a short-range static wireless connection. To use it for internet access, your device must connect (over Wi-Fi) to a wireless router – such as the one at your favourite coffee shop that allows customers free internet access. Mobile data is usually available on your device as part of a paid contract or on pay as you go services. It allows you to browse the internet or stream content anywhere you can access a strong enough signal.
-
Browsing the app won’t consume nearly as much mobile data as playing a video, so we haven’t disabled it. If you wish to disable any type of mobile data usage caused by browsing the app, then this can be disabled in your device settings.
-
Mobile data is an internet source - such as GPRS, Edge, 2G, 3G or 4G - supplied by your mobile phone provider. Mobile data does not include WiFi. The amount of mobile data available to you will vary based on your mobile contract and is usually limited to a certain number of gigabytes of data each month. Please check the exact amount with your mobile service provider.
-
There is no longer a setting to disable streaming by mobile data. Note: a user can also download over data now.
