Currently the app cannot be turned into landscape mode other than during playback. We are also currently unable to support playback in portrait mode.

Yes, you can navigate most of the app using just a Bluetooth keyboard.

On iOS we have implemented single pointer interactions across the app as an alternative to path based gestures. Tapping on headers will expand a page that can be scrolled vertically in order to view all content. On Android this has been implemented on the app homepage. We are aware that some areas of the apps still rely on path based gestures and are looking into this.

C4 Streaming has been built according to best practice to support users with cognitive impairments. For example, logical and consistent navigation is provided, text and language is as simple as possible to understand. We offer the ability to pause moving imagery within Homepage promotions and on the Live TV page. We test the app with the DAC (Digital Accessibility Centre) who provide feedback from users with dyslexia and other cognitive impairments. We are also compatible with colour inversion on most mobile devices.

We have a curated signed collection, available on all streaming platforms, containing some of our most popular shows with British Sign Language interpretation. This is available from the homepage on most platforms or by going to channel4.com/signed, or searching the word 'signed' within the platform.
Signed programmes or episodes feature a BSL icon as part of their main image.
We are adding new titles to this collection all the time, as well as looking to improve the navigation to these programmes. -
On iOS and Android, content can be watched with Subtitles where a speech bubble icon is displayed.
Most of the content on the C4 Streaming iOS app has the subtitles feature, including on demand and live content.
Programmes can be filtered by a ‘Subtitled’ option within the Search function and within each programme category.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer subtitles if you are casting using Chromecast, but we are looking into this.

The app does not currently offer alternate colour schemes, contrast levels or fonts. However, System inverted colours via the iOS device settings area are supported.
On Android, compatibility with colour inversion may depend on your OS version and manufacturer. These can be checked within your device settings.

Both apps resize text when you change text size in your device settings. We are aware that when enabling larger text sizes via iOS settings, there are some issues that we have been unable to avoid at this time. For further information please visit our accessibility statement

The iOS app supports screen zoom in the OS accessibility settings.
