Content Strategy & Planning

Content Strategy and Planning is responsible for creating the most innovative and competitive schedules for
Channel 4, E4, More4, Film4, 4Music, 4Seven and the Box Music Channels.

We co-ordinate long-term channel strategy and liaise with the commissioning teams to ensure the best ideas are nurtured within the schedule.

The department also includes the Acquisitions team (covering series, film and factual acquisitions), and the Channel 4 Content Planning team ensuring our content is delivered to audiences across both linear and streaming platforms.

The team reports to Kiran Nataraja, Director of Content Strategy and Planning and manages the entire lifecycle of all programme ideas - from the original pitch to finalising a programme's place in the current schedule.

Once a programme is commissioned we monitor production delivery whilst the channel schedule evolves.

We factor in trends in viewing and developments by our competitors as the forward schedules evolve into the final transmission week.
