Lexus SC 430 Review

Overview3 out of 5

It's a credit to Lexus that a good deal less than two decades after the brand's launch, it is considered a genuine rival to Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar. The SC 430 is the company's first convertible and it debuted in the UK in 2001. This time, though, critical reaction was decidedly lukewarm.

On its side were outstanding build quality, a folding metal roof and exceptional refinement; counting against it were its American-inspired styling, considerable size, harsh ride and fairly dull driving experience. Changes have been made to address some of these issues dynamic, though, with tweaks to the suspension. The SC 430 now costs £52,385.
