Serious complaints raised for 20 years before police officer arrested for misconduct

This programme has seen police documents revealing that serious complaints were made against a Warwickshire police investigator for twenty years – before he was finally arrested.

We first reported on the case of Alan Butler in 2021 – when he was jailed for three years for misconduct in public office, after misusing his position for sexual gain.

Now, one of the women he targeted has waived her anonymity to speak in this exclusive report.
