Here's a boy racer's dream: a Peugeot 207 GTI THP 175 accessorised by cool aftermarket tweaker 'n' tuner Irmscher.
And it could come true: this grey concept car, with full-length red strip from bonnet to roof, white stripes and graphics, has been developed to test reaction to a range of Peugeot-approved options - including the scissor-opening doors.
The lightweight doors swing upwards and outwards in an effortless motion, and a Peugeot spokesman says that they've been engineered to production quality. They could be ordered as an upgrade costing £500-£1,000, depending on volume, via the Irmscher catalogue.
The list of extra accessories will be offered by Peugeot dealers for a number of models (including the 4007; an Irmscher-decorated example is also on display on Peugeot's show stand). Most buyers will probably go for the alloy wheels, graphics and decals, sports seats and other trim details, but the scissor doors really would make a 207 stand out from the crowd.
