Ukraine war: Russia says it’s captured eastern city Lysychansk

Russia’s defense minister says his country’s forces have taken control of the last major city in Ukraine’s Luhansk province, bringing Moscow closer to its stated goal of seizing all of the Donbas region.

Ukrainian officials confirmed Lysychansk had fallen and said six people were also killed in shelling in the neighbouring town of Slovyansk.
