Strep A cases not ‘particularly unexpected or alarming’, says infectious disease specialist

Health authorities are continuing to investigate cases of Strep A, after confirming that six children in England and Wales have died from the infection since September – an unusually high number.

The UK Health Security Agency says there’s been a rise in cases this year, particularly in children under 10.

We speak to Professor Adam Finn – a specialist in pediatric infectious disease.
