Residents call for more action after government creates new building safety regulator

Four years on from the Grenfell fire disaster, and hundreds of thousands of homeowners are facing hefty bills to remove cladding, often running into tens of thousands of pounds.

Today the government announced a new building safety regulator for England would be given powers to prosecute rule-breaking developers and help householders recoup costs.

But many of those stuck in unsafe, unsellable properties say the measures do not go far enough.
