Republican senators plan to oppose Joe Biden’s Presidential certification

A group of Republican senators say they’ll vote to reject Joe Biden’s presidential election victory when the US Congress meets formally to certify the result next week.

The move, led by Texas senator Ted Cruz, was welcomed by vice president Mike Pence – in the latest futile attempt to defy the election result with unsubstantiated claims of voting fraud.
