Police say former Russian spy poisoned by nerve agent

Chief Correspondent

Police have confirmed tonight that the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter were poisoned by a nerve agent. Both the victims, they said, were specifically targeted in an attack which is now being treated as attempted murder. An officer who was one of the first on the scene in Salisbury was now also in a serious condition in hospital. And the Duke of Cambridge, who’s president of the FA, has reportedly said tonight he has no plans to attend the World Cup, to be held this summer in Russia.
