Labour expecting early general election

The Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has accused the Government of incompetence – saying they’ve lost the moral authority to set rules on Covid.

His attack was part of a New Year speech – promising that he would earn voters’ trust with a new “Contract with the British people”.

And he said Labour would run the country according to the principles of security, prosperity and respect.
