India flood: over 300 dead in Kerala

More than 320 people have died in India, as emergency teams managed to rescue thousands of people by helicopter and boats who’d been marooned by the unprecedented monsoon rains. Heavy downpours over the last eight days in the southern state of Kerala triggered widespread flooding, as well as landslides and bridge collapses, while the main international airport had to suspend flights after the runway was flooded.
