Heatwave hits Greenland ice sheet

A heatwave is gripping the arctic, and Greenland’s ice sheet is melting away on a scale not seen for years, threatening a rise in sea levels.

The country has already lost more than 250 billion tons of ice – and the rate at which ice is being lost has increased six-fold since the 1980s.
