Health Department reduced to ‘smoking ruin’ by Covid, says Cummings

Boris Johnson’s former chief adviser, Dominic Cummings, has told MPs that the Department of Health was reduced to a “smoking ruin” as it struggled during the first months of the coronavirus pandemic in England.

Mr Cummings was in the Commons to tell MPs how the government’s new advanced scientific research agency should be run.
