Critics of UK government’s post-Brexit farming plan fear food safety could be affected

Its supporters claim it will protect the UK’s farming industry after Britain leaves the European Union at the end of this year. But critics of the Agriculture Bill, which went back before Parliament today, say it could end up compromising food safety and animal welfare after Brexit unless key standards are enshrined in UK law. Some farmers have taken their protest to Westminster.
