Cohen says Trump told him to make hush money payments

Washington Correspondent

President Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen has used some of his precious free time to speak out against the President on US breakfast television

Mr Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison on Wednesday; his delayed sentence is due to begin in March.

He told the network ABC today that Mr Trump directed him to make illegal hush money payments to two women who said they’d had sexual relationships with the then-Presidential candidate, and that Mr Trump knew this was wrong. But that’s only his version of events, and the President denies it.
