Former Clifton College teacher charged over indecent images

A former housemaster at Bristol’s Clifton College, a top private school, is charged with taking indecent images of more than a hundred children.

German teacher Jonathan Thomson-Glover resigned from Clifton College in Bristol after he was arrested by police last August.

This afternoon the 53-year-old from Cornwall was charged with 36 counts of making, taking and possessing indecent images.

Some of the offences involved cameras believed to have been located at Clifton College. The independent school for boys and girls is one of the top public schools in the country.

A joint investigation between Avon & Somerset Police and Devon & Cornwall Police has identified 120 alleged victims over a 16-year period.

The investigation was launched after the National Crime Agency passed Devon & Cornwall Police information relating to indecent images of children downloaded from the internet.

Mr Thomson-Glover will appear at Taunton magistrates court next Monday.
