What is the truth behind the flotilla of migrant dinghies crossing the Channel?

In the last few months hundreds of migrants have put their lives at risk by attempting to cross the Channel in dinghies.

The Home Secretary has declared it a “major incident” and the Immigration Minister has vowed to return the migrants to France. Tonight, in a special investigation, we examine how such crossings take place.

Much attention has been focused on the role of organised gangs, but we found that many crossings are badly organised, highly dangerous and hard to police.
