UN warns global temperatures set to rise 1.5 degrees in next five years

United Nations’ scientists have warned that global temperatures are set to rise by the crucial 1.5 degree threshold in the next five years, with potentially devastating consequences.

Breaching the 1.5C limit may only be temporary as it would be partly influenced by a natural climate phenomenon called El Niño.

But the biggest influence of course is still our failure to curb greenhouse emissions.
