An initial day of peace talks in Belarus has now ended – with Ukraine describing the negotiations as “extremely difficult”.
On the ground, Ukrainian forces are continuing to put up stiff resistance – but the authorities in Kharkiv said at least nine people had been killed and dozens injured in repeated shell attacks on residential areas.
