UK strikes: NHS staff given ‘final offer’ and teachers take action

More than a million NHS workers will get a 5% pay increase – plus a one off cash payment for last year, after unions agreed to accept the Government’s offer.

After meeting 14 health unions today, Health Secretary Steve Barclay urged the four who rejected the deal to endorse it, describing it as a “final offer”.

But the Royal College of Nursing has warned that the dispute is “far from over”.
