UK organisations tackle lack of diversity in take up of countryside pursuits

Britain’s ethnic minority populations are concentrated in towns and cities, leaving the countryside overwhelmingly white.

And relatively few people spend leisure time in British nature.

That same lack of diversity, say campaigners, can apply to the conversation around biodiversity and climate change.

So we’ve been to meet some groups challenging the norms and pre-conceptions – and trying to make the countryside truly inclusive.
