UK announces new licences for oil and gas drilling in North Sea

Liz Truss has been looking to reassure the public following yesterday’s warning from the National Grid that there could – in a worst case scenario – be scheduled blackouts or temporary energy cuts.

Today she announced new licences for oil and gas drilling in the North Sea – no short term fix – and in fact it’s the immediate problem of price rises, despite the energy cap that is concerning so many, not least businesses.
