UK agrees trade deal with Japan as row with EU intensifies

The UK Government has hailed it a historic moment – the first trade deal since Brexit – a deal with Japan it says is worth £15 billion.

But that’s a fraction of the trade closer to home, the one with the European Union.

And with the EU now threatening legal action, that’s still very much in a precarious position.
