Turkey earthquake survivors fear ‘toxic dust’ from debris

This weekend marks six months since the devastating earthquake that hit parts of Central and Southern Turkey and Northern Syria killing over 59,000 people and leaving millions of people homeless.

Towns and villages are waiting to be rebuilt with thousands of people living in temporary tents and shipping containers.

There are very real concerns now that the collapsed buildings and huge piles of potentially toxic rubble are not being moved or disposed of properly.
