Trump says ‘rogue killers’ could be behind Khashoggi disappearance

International Editor

President Trump has dispatched his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Saudi Arabia to look into the disappearance of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Mr Khashoggi, who was a critic of the Saudi regime, hasn’t been seen since he went into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul nearly two weeks ago. Mr Trump says “rogue killers” could be responsible for his disappearance because the Saudi ruler King Salman has denied knowing what happened. In Istanbul, Turkish authorities have been allowed into the consulate to conduct searches.
