Travel industry workers protest over Covid rules

The government has defended its decision to delay the final lifting of England’s lockdown, as new figures show more than 16,000 daily Covid cases were reported in the UK today.

Around 60 per cent of adults have now had both doses of the vaccine. And the travel industry is urging the government to relax restrictions on international travel in time for the summer season, warning that thousands more jobs will be at risk.
