The Indian rapper fighting back against right-wing Hindu fundamentalism

The Dalits – the so-called “untouchables” – have for centuries been at the bottom of India’s brutal caste system. At the last election many voted for the BJP, which promised a better life under a hindu nationalist government.

But instead, in the last few years, there has been an alarming rise in attacks against them – often by right wing hindu fundamentalist groups.

Kiran Moodley went to meet a Dalit rapper who is fighting back. And a warning, there are some distressing images in his report.
