Tensions rise with US over Chancellor’s plans for tax on major tech companies

In Davos the Chancellor Sajid Javid has been trying to reassure business leaders that the UK won’t diverge from EU regulations after Brexit “just for the sake of it”.

He insisted the Government would always protect the interests of British companies – but there are tensions with the US over Mr Javid’s plans to press ahead with a tax on major tech companies.
