Scotland: Kate Forbes considering SNP leadership bid

Kate Forbes has confirmed she is considering running for SNP leader following Humza Yousaf’s resignation.

The former Scottish finance secretary – who narrowly lost the last leadership race – says she has “a groundswell of support’’ in her party.

It would mean a contest, rather than a coronation of former deputy first minister John Swinney, who senior SNP figures are lining up behind.
