Royal Mail may cut deliveries to three days a week due to low demand

Royal Mail’s postal service is “unsustainable” and “must modernise” according to the industry watchdog. Among Ofcom’s proposals – moving to a three day a week service and ditching Saturday letter deliveries altogether because of low demand. Unions have warned that  would “destroy” the Royal Mail, while the Government has insisted that Saturday deliveries are sacrosanct.
