Police officers without the right skills or training expected to take the lead on child sexual exploitation cases in South Yorkshire – that’s not a situation from the past, but one of the problems identified today by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The police watchdog has been looking into how the force investigated widespread sexual abuse of teenage girls over several years.
