James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore is leading a campaign to end the sale of foie gras, produced by force-feeding ducks and geese.

It divides people more than Marmite.

The pate-like delicacy is produced by the force-feeding of ducks and geese and though widely condemned, it is widely consumed, not only in its heartland of France but here in Britain too.

The campaign to stop its sale is attracting growing support, not least from celebrities.

This week Sir Roger Moore, not perhaps a stranger to high living, renewed an attack on one of the country’s most prestigious stores for stocking the product, Selfridges.
