Pope arrives in Myanmar amid controversy over plight of Rohingya Muslims

Pope Francis has arrived in Myanmar which is also known as Burma, on a visit designed to reach out to some of Asia’s poorest communities. But it’s also fraught with political controversy over the plight of the Rohingya Muslims.
The Pope has already met the general in charge of security operations in Rakhine state, whose crackdown has sent more than 620,000 Rohingya fleeing into neighbouring Bangladesh.
