Peru drought: Lima could run dry by 2050

The consequences of drought caused by global warming are only too evident in Peru, where melting glaciers mean the water which used to supply local communities is drying up fast.

It is already affecting major cities too. It’s feared that unless there is immediate action to curb temperature rises, Lima’s water supply could pretty much run out by 2050.

We spoke to people who have already been driven to extremes in the search for water – and soon there will be no where else to go.
