Parties pledge final election promises as polling day looms

Senior Political Correspondent

For some, it’s the stuff of nightmares but for one political leader this Friday the 13th could be a dream come true. And with just three days of campaigning left until the polls open, the parties are all making their final pledges and promises.

The Conservatives say they’ll bring in a points-based immigration system, while Labour have made a pledge to provide free personal care for older people, and the Liberal Democrats want to invest £50 billion in infrastructure.

As we head into the final furlong, voters who are concerned about returning a pro-EU candidate are being urged to vote tactically.
