Number of unhappy young people highest for decade, says report

Childhood and happiness – two words that should be synonymous.

But the number of unhappy young people is at its highest for a decade, according to the Children’s Society’s annual “good childhood” report published today.

The topics children said made them happy included family and friends. The issues that make them worried, or unhappy, included crime, climate change and Brexit.

Here are the views of some young people that we spoke to today playing in a park in the shadow of parliament.
