Number of people out of work due to long-term sickness at record high

Unemployment is up; employment is down. The UK jobs market is not in great shape according to the latest official figures, and there’s more evidence of people drifting away from the world of work entirely, with the number of people who’ve become inactive through long term sickness hitting a record high.
