Northern Ireland Covid inquiry ‘important day’ for families of victims

Home Affairs Correspondent

The UK’s Covid Inquiry has moved to Northern Ireland for three weeks, to look at how the pandemic was handled there.

People who lost loved ones to the virus said it was an “important day”.

It began with details of fractious exchanges at Stormont in 2020 – including the region’s chief medical officer swearing as he branded politicians “dysfunctional”.

A warning, there is some strong language in his report.
