Nine million people in the UK are lonely

From retirement to health problems – or becoming a new mother: all trigger points in life which can leave someone not just isolated – but alone. Nine million people in the UK are lonely – according to research by the Co-Op and the British Red Cross.┬áVictoria Macdonald has been talking to Tony Fisher. He lost three members of his family in the space of just one year as well as suffering from mental health problems.
