A top aide to the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny is recovering from a hammer attack outside his home in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.
Leonid Volkov suffered a broken arm and leg injuries in the attack, which he called a “typical criminal ‘hello’ from Putin”. Lithuania is also blaming Moscow – its President telling Vladimir Putin “nobody is afraid of you here”. But it’s sure to worry the many Russian and Belarusian opposition figures who’ve taken refuge there.
