Nationality and borders bill under fire over removal of citizenship without notice

News Correspondent

The Nationality and Borders Bill is meeting stiff opposition ahead of its next showing in the House of Lords.

A new legal opinion shared exclusively with Channel 4 News said a clause that will allow the government to remove citizenship without notice will limit the ability to appeal and disproportionately impact racial minorities.

The government says it would only be used “in exceptional circumstances”, against those classed as “most dangerous”.
