Modi implements controversial ‘anti-Muslim’ law in India

On the surface, a new law in India that gives fast track citizenship to minorities in neighbouring countries seems admirable.

But critics say the law has been framed to exclude Muslims leading to fears that it will legitimise harassment and violence against them.

There have been a number of protests across the country, coming just weeks ahead of its general election.
