McDonald’s UK staff strike for first time

Staff at fast food chain McDonald’s have staged their first ever strike in the UK. Workers from two outlets in Cambridge and London walked out in a dispute over pay and conditions. They say they want an end to zero-hours contracts and to be paid a minimum wage of £10 an hour. McDonald’s said the strike was actually about disciplinary issues and not pay, and said the workers involved represented a tiny minority of its UK workforce.
