Masks in England no longer a legal requirement – but service may be refused

Although the requirement to wear masks in England’s enclosed public spaces has ended, some shops and transport authorities are keeping the rule.

They are still compulsory in many indoor settings in Scotland and Wales, but in England the government says it now just “expects and recommends” masks in crowded areas like public transport.

So while infection levels in the community are so high, will people carry on wearing them to help keep themselves and others safe?
