Maldives suffering impact of climate change ‘now’, former president says

For the low-lying islands of the world this crisis is truly existential, literally lapping at their feet.

Richer countries had agreed to provide $100 billion to help developing countries deal with the impact of global warming.

But that cash has still not arrived, and today it seems it may not appear for another two years.

The Maldives faces a particularly acute threat from rising sea levels.
