Liz Truss ‘not ruling out’ financial support for cost of living

Supporters of Conservative leadership favourite Liz Truss are not ruling out a major cut to VAT if she is announced as the new Prime Minister in exactly a week’s time.

But suggestions she’d slash the tax to ease the cost of living crisis have been criticised by one economic think tank which says it would ‘crash the public finances.’
