Letby inquiry rules babies’ lives could have been saved

The health secretary Yvette Cooper has promised a new way to monitor whether recommendations from NHS inquiries actually take place. It follows The Thirwall report into the hospital where Lucy Letby worked. Lady Justice Thirlwall said there was a “complete failure to protect babies in the neonatal unit” and made 17 recommendations including cameras for cots in neonatal units.
