Lemn Sissay: therapy and live theatre

Social Affairs Editor and Presenter

As much a therapy session as live theatre: a stark psychologist’s assessment of the award-winning poet Lemn Sissay, read out in front of an audience at London’s Royal Court. It was filled with the most intimate of details, but the public reading was exactly what Sissay himself wanted, as he heard for the first time the full impact of the abuse he suffered as a child during 18 years in the care system.
